What you get with
the Au Courant
product line:

premium product made from high quality, organic, and non-comodegenic
ingredients. The active tanning ingredient is DHA, so you will NOT
get that dreaded “orange” look that some self-tanners give you. Au Courant
provides a smooth, natural looking tan, and does so with non-sticky application.
Au Courant also has a much higher concentration of DHA (the active ingredient
that creates the tan) so you don't need to apply as much or as often as other
sunless tanning lotions-products. Finally, it won’t leave any strange or unpleasant odors behind as some other
self-tanners do. Au Courant is not a pigment tanning product, the DHA in Au
Courant interacts with the amino acids contained in the upper epidermis of your
skin and produces a natural looking tan. Au Courant self-tanners work on all
skin types - even if your skin is very fair and doesn't tan in the sun, Au
Courant will work. Your tan will fully develop in 3-5 hours and lasts on average
2-4 days. To maintain or darken your tan, simply reapply every few days.

bedding. Without the brown color guide/instant bronzer you will not see the
instant color, but you will still develop the same natural looking tan in 3-5 hours as
the active ingredient (DHA) works with your skin.

Professional Non absorbing Sponge on a Stick. This sponge on a stick was designed for body applications and hard to reach areas. Suggested for first time users. It guides the novice on how the product works and how much product is actually necessary. It blends the sunless tanning spray, lotion, and mousse perfectly. Lets you dilute the application by wetting the sponge first. This will breakdown the product for a lighter or darker application. Can be re-used. Just rinse and squeeze. A good way to apply the lotion or spray and minimize waste.

Some people prefer to use the sponge brush applicators, and many just apply the lotion/spray/mousse with their hands. If you apply with your bare hands you need to wash your hands with bar soap afterwards to prevent your palms from tanning. With these stretch Vinyl (just like latex gloves without the latex) gloves you don't have to worry about washing your hands after application.

Au Courant and the sun: With our Au Courant products you can immediately achieve a natural looking summer tan - THEN - you can also tan naturally, or you can apply an SPF sunscreen to protect your skin. Au Courant products do NOT have an SPF sunscreen in them so you CAN also tan naturally from the sun or from a sunlamp after applying our Au Courant products. The only Au Courant product that has an SPF sunscreen is the "Eclipse" which is an SPF sunscreen with instant bronzer.
Brown Color Guide versus the CLEAR: THE ORIGINAL Au Courant products have a brown color guide in the formula. This color guide does not produce the actual tan, the DHA ingredient does this and it takes 3-6 hours to fully develop the tan. The color guide does provide instant temporary color, and it's primary purpose it to help you apply the lotion/spray/mousse/gel more evenly by showing you where you have applied, and any areas that you have missed. A minor negative with the brown color guide is that in some instances it can rub off or your clothing or bedding (don't worry its water soluble and does not stain). All sunless tanners with color guides can do this. - THE CLEAR was created due to popular demand. It is clear and will not rub off on clothing or bedding. As long as you are attentive during the application process you will have the same smooth and natural looking tan as with the original formula with color guide. With the clear, there are no 'instant' results from the color guide, but the tan will fully develop in 3-6 hours. We are now selling more CLEAR formula than the original and it continues to gain popularity.
Bronzer versus Sunless-Self Tanning Formulas:
A bronzer is an instant coloring-tanning product. It tans your skin topically by
temporarily 'painting' your skin. The Au Courant "Original with Brown Color
Guide" contains a bronzer - the brown color guide is the bronzer and provides
instant, but temporary color. The active ingredient in ALL Au Courant lotions,
sprays, gels, and mousse is DHA - this is a Sunless-Self Tanning ingredient, and
works differently. The DHA is absorbed into the upper epidermis of your skin, it
then interacts with your skins amino acids and produces the natural tanned look.
The new Eclipse "Bronzer with Sunscreen" is only a bronzer and does not contain DHA.
